We’re so proud to have welcomed three talented apprentices to STM Agency over the last several months. Mercy, Hope, and Alex have settled in nicely with the Finance, Client Services, and Web Development teams, and are already sharing their bright ideas.
To celebrate #NationalApprenticeshipWeek, we’ve decided to showcase each of our brilliant apprentices with a short interview about their time and life at the agency
Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship?
I chose to pursue an apprenticeship because they provide a unique and valuable learning experience. I liked the idea of learning on the job & spending the majority of my time in the workplace, as it allows me to gain real life experience in my chosen field.
How are you finding working at STM Agency?
Great! Everyone has been really supportive since I joined the agency and I’ve settled in quickly. There’s a great culture and a buzz around the office that results in a positive and fun working environment.
Can you tell us something you’ve learned while you’ve been at the agency?
I now have tons of design tips and tricks on Figma, the software I predominately use within my role. Working with experienced professionals means that I’m always learning something new every day.
How has the support from mentors or colleagues contributed to your experience so far?
The support from my colleagues has been brilliant, everybody is so approachable and easy to talk to. The guidance and insights from my colleagues helped me overcome the early challenges I faced quickly.
What accomplishments are you most proud of since starting your apprenticeship?
Working on my first project and then presenting it to the client face to face was definitely one of my proudest moments so far, especially when the client provided positive feedback and were really happy with the service they’d received both from my team and the agency overall.
How would you describe the company culture?
The culture within the agency is collaborative and supportive, and promotes a healthy work-life balance. All of the senior board members are really approachable, and there’s an emphasis on continuous learning and development. Overall, it’s a positive and inclusive culture that results in a motivated workforce.
What do you enjoy most about working at STM Agency?
The variety of clients and projects means that no two days are the same, and the fast-paced agency environment provides a vibrant atmosphere in the office that I find really motivating.
Oh, and the office coffee machine is great too!
Finally, what’s something you’re looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to getting stuck into even more projects, working with clients and providing a great service. If all goes well, hopefully I’ll still be with the agency for many years to come!
